NZCEL (Academic) Level4
This programme equips students with the academic and language skills required for further study in New Zealand at Level 5 to 7. This programme provides learning experiences that will introduce students to elements of New Zealand culture, academic requirements for further study, and soft skills to build confidence in English language use.
Graduate Profile Outcomes
Upon completion of the programme, learners will have the English language and academic skills to:
- Understand main ideas and supporting details of moderately complex oral academic texts.
- Participate effectively in sustained spoken academic discourse.
- Understand main ideas and supporting details of moderately complex written academic texts
- Write detailed, developed, moderately complex academic texts.
Entry requirements:
To enrol in the New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Academic) Level 4 at UUNZ, students must meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 16 years on entry to the programme AND, - Have successfully completed New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Applied) Level 3
- OR, - Provide an IELTS score (academic or general) of at least 5.5 with no band lower than 5.0 or NZQA Approved Equivalent
- OR, - Display a level at an equivalent of CEFR low B2 in the UUNZ Placement Test
- Hold an appropriate visa

Classes are typically scheduled between 8.30am and 6.00pm. You will receive a copy of your timetable when you enrol.
